Saturday bargains!

Good evening! i hope you are enjoying the start of the another new week! :) This weekend was excruciating hot out here! over a hundred both days!! POOL TIME! lol but we did manage to get to the swapmeet in the morning! hehe
we didn't buy this but i took a photo to share with you, cause i have NEVER seen a mini bike chopper like this before! lol

And same here, we didn't buy one but this vendor was selling windmills that would generate electricity! :)

And before we even bought anything, we saw this old dead looking cactus with THREE new pads growing!! it AMAZES me how dead something can look and still push out new growth!!

a few feet from that one is this healthy looking same kind of cactus!

oh yea, that's when i didn't YET discover that my camera shutter is starting to stick!!!!
we bought this AWESOME peacock planter for $5.00!! it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

this stone lidded dish was only a buck!!

a COOL tie headband for a buck! i think this may find its way to my sister's house!

All the next few items were only a buck from this one vendor and his dollar tables!

this HUGE shell dish, stands about 14" and is about a foot in diameter!

this lidded pot that is suppose to be quite old.

this COOL hanging ornament made out of sheet metal.

this glass fruit funnel, and it had a $5.00 price tag on it but he pointed it out to me on the dollar table! lol

then i paid three dollars for this lot of jewelry... an abalone bracelet...

this old music book was only a buck!! i know the cover is hard to read but the pages were in GREAT shape, as seen in the following photo!

from 1872!!!

i got this small pot filled with little water holders for single flower stems, a buck! lol

i picked this African instrument up and ask what the vendor wanted for it and she says "oh i don't really want to sell that, how about three dollars?" lol SOLD!!

this sand castle was only a dollar too!

i had to have this little cart that holds the mustard, ketchup and two spice jar sized salt & pepper shakers, i guess it has a place there for napkins or something, it was only three dollars!! how CUTE!!

and finally on Saturday, i found this like brand new purse for just a couple of bucks!

i absolutely LA LA LOVE that silly swapmeet! but we did manage to get to a yardsale on Sunday! i sure hope to see you tomorrow and i will share that FUN! hehe Thank you so much for spending this time with me!! big HUGS! :) Have a MARVELOUS evening!! :D

Whitewater Preserves part 2

Hi again! :) i hope you are enjoying the summer! this weekend sure went fast, almost zipped by, and it's Sunday evening, already! we didn't do anything out of the normal, this weekend. but we did get in the POOL! WOOHOO! lol
i hope you are ready to enjoy the rest of our day (wanna go back SOON! hehe) at the Preserves! :)
We last left at one of the trout ponds.

i so miss seeing those catttails!

And there were a TON of them here!

the Ranger's station was AWESOME too!

it sure doesn't look like much is going on in this photo, but there was a lot of driftwood there to enjoy too!

and even some flowers too, don't you see them there? lol (i don't either!hehe)

National park & water preserve too!

Good morning! i am back to finish up with Joshua Tree National Park photos and introduce you to a new place we found locally! :)
i last left you with a boulder that looks like it should be teetering, at least in HIGH winds maybe! Would you park near this boulder!? we didn't LOL

here is the other side of it, still looks precarious to me!!

here are some more BIG boulders! they really looked soo COOL!

just look at how far back these Joshua Trees go!

After we passed this Joshua tree, i asked DH to turn around so i could get this shot of it! SCARY isn't it?!

From that frightening photo to this ACTUAL and LOVELY tree!! (Joshua trees are NOT really trees, i may have to do a post on those AWESOME plants!)

Before we left, we went into one of the visitor/info centers and i saw this quote!

And DH & i really liked this plant called a Smoke Tree.

That's it from our day at the Park!! i hope, if you get in this area, that you, too, check out the Park! it's truly BEAUTIFUL and has EVERYTHING that our desert offers! :)

oh it was sooo nice to HEAR the movement of the water!!

i always thought that green water is slimy and gross but this water was absolutely LOVELY!!!

oh this all reminded me so very much of when i was young and lived near a fish hatchery. it surely wasn't as nice as this one!! lol but what a GREAT well kept secret, this little oasis of the desert!! i have a bunch more pictures of swimmning, so i hope you stop back OFTEN!! tomorrow is the swapmeet so i will probably share those bargains we get! hehe So much to share, so little time!! hehe Thank you so very much for sharing this time together!! Now, i can hardly leave without saying goodbye to two of our icons!
Rest in Peace, Farrah and Michael, you will surely be missed! many may believe that Michael was a child molester and i do believe where there is smoke there is fire, so SOMETHING must have happened somewhere along the lines but he WAS aquitted by a court and jury and no matter what he may or may not have done, he WAS an icon. love him or hate him, he will be missed!
And if you haven't seen Farrah's Story, it will be aired again, on NBC tonite!! you might want to check your local listings and check it out!! it is sooooo very touching & moving! Farrah was a brave soul and tough as nails, right to the end!!
