There SNOW bargain like a swapmeet bargain
hehe sometimes i crack meself up, like when i can come up with a clever post title! lol
Well our WEEK long rain storms have ended and we survived them pretty good! my rain gauge has never been this full! lol

Since i hadn't gone to the swapmeet last week, i was really itching to get there today! we knew it would not be alot of vendors since this whole week was so bad. i am sure, going by OUR road out, that alot of them couldn't even get out yet... the down pours cause flash floods and the flooding really ruts out these old sandy roads.
This was on the way down the mountain, overlooking the town of Yucca Valley.

This one was taken IN town this morning.

it never snowed where we live and we really found that strange since it snowed on all the mountains around us AND in the valley downtown, very strange! hehe
Anyways, onto the bargains!! wooHOO!
paid only fifty cents for this little plate.

12 yards of fabric for five dollars.

you know we LOVE our books!

a Lancombe lipstick case and tiger eye bracelet was only $3.50 total!

i LOVE this one little mexican vendor and she is my size too!! a dollar each!

and isn't this suede purse cute?

And last we stopped by our gemstone vendor and was sure glad we did, he gave us an AWESOME deal on this Amethyst and Pyrite geode.

my goodness the photos just don't do it justice.

i would LOVE for you to see the perfect crystal points that the pyrite is on, it's truly BEAUTIFUL!

Thank you for visiting! HUGS! hope you have an AWESOME evening! :)

Waiting for #4
Good morning! Yes we made it through three storms and even though yesterday's or #3's storm was suppose to be the worse, now today's storm is going to be worse than even THAT!! sustaining winds of 35-50 mph and gusts up to 80!! When John took DS to work this morning, he said it was snowing JUST on the highway!!! Was raining in town and here at home but the highway was getting snow!!! Snow isn't suppose to be happening below 5000 feet but it is there! lol
photo from between #2 & #3 storms.

Today's storm is suppose to hang around til tomorrow too! it really hasn't stopped raining yet from YESTERDAY!! sheesh
Batten down the hatches for yet one more round of storms!!! i will be HAPPY when it's over! hehe

And the storms are STILL coming! Yesterday Southern California suffered through wind gusts of up 80 mph, tornadoes, mudslides, flooding inland, hail, snow, and waterspouts!!! and today MORE of the SAME!!! Mandatory evacutions will start today and coastal flooding! today comes storm #3 and i guess tomorrow #4! Torrential rains that bring one and a half inches an hour!!! CRAZY!

Not so many bargains but the skies are BEAUTIFUL
Good evening! i had the good fortune of having my guys take me out for dinner last night and these are the skies we saw!
This one was taken after we parked before eating.

and these after we got done and before leaving town.

just BEAUTIFUL!!

And this last one, was taken from inside the car! hehe

it was pretty dark by the time we got home so i was real glad i had the camera with us!
Yesterday morning came too early and chilly for me so i didn't go to the swapmeet and John said he blew threw there quickly.
He did find a set of Christmas dishes for only $8.00 and thought it would be nice for next Christmas.

And this little curio was $2.00!

That's it from me, i am off to eat again! hehe Have a WONDERFUL evening!! HUGS!!

Nasty weather coming
Good evening! this weather sure has been crazy! for two days, we had high gusts and today was reasonably nice but very overcast and we aren't expected to get rain until Sunday evening but by the looks it will be here sooner! Then we are expected to get 3 or 4 storms bringing us rain ALL next week! in the mountains here, they expect something like 14" -18" of rain!! we haven't had anything close to that since we moved in, 5 years ago. i am already ready for Spring! hehe who is with me?!! :D

There's crystals in them ther' mountains!
Good evening!! boy i would have been here earlier but like i said before, my husband's computer has issues ALL its own!! like when the right click on the mouse just stops working and then i close out the internet and sometimes it almost resets itself or something, but today, it happened when i closed out the internet AND the folder i was working in! very very strange! and that's just ONE of the little irks this computer holds for me daily!
anyways, i got pretty good photos of the rocks we brought home. like this Dendryte that John found. Dendryte is that ferny look on the rock! Cool, huh?

This epidote crystal was hardly showing in photos so i took the picture when the sun made it all shiny. see it there?

This is green marble.

i don't yet know what these kinds are called but they really look like coral from the sea! hehe

here is a nice chunk of green calcite.

Another epidote crystal.

And a LOVELY garnet that John found.

and finally, one i found too.

right now, and for the next few days, we have gusts up to 50 miles per hour. ugh! still nice and sunny and almost 60 degrees but the winds are awful! i hope it's better where you are!!
Big HUGS! Thank you for visiting! i will see ya tomorrow! :D

Rock hunting and bargains of course!
Good day to you! sorry i haven't been around but we had some very nice weather and on Friday, DH & i went rock hunting locally for green marble... low grade quality but still very pretty. and then on Sunday, with the continued AWESOME weather, we got together with a couple and went rock hunting again! This time we looked for epidote and garnet and found BOTH! i LOVE rock hounding!! hehe
This is me on the mountain of green marble.

and here are two of our best garnet specimens!! the one stone is really good quality too!

i will share some epidote photos too when i get them clear enough! lol (me bad photographer!!)
Anyways, onto some bargains! WOHOO!!
We recently found a decent yard sale and got these items:
this little coat was only a buck but Coco doesn't like it too much yet! but does he look ADORABLE in it! lol

This CUTE Santa moon votive was only a quarter!

Boxes of Santa ornaments were only fifty cent each!

i really like this metal horse.

this fifty cent jar looks like the one i filled with Christmas decorations and will look so FUN together.

Honey potpourri, never opened!

this little snowman was only fifity cent too!

i like this leaf dish and got the stones as a bonus! hehe

these bunnies will be a WONDERFUL addition to the ones we have under our one tree.

we still haven't bought any C batteries but this will be a GREAT way to save money AND have FUN doing it! And it was only a buck!! hehe

these ears of colorful corn will be a GREAT display next fall!

And finally in the lot we bought from the yard sale, is this little snowman for fifty cents!! it is identical to the one we recently bought and enjoyed this past Christmas! it will look so CUTE in any other room!

We like to buy geodes and rocks from our new club member who sells at the swapmeet.

the geode looks to me like a blue lace agate and the smaller stone is chrysocolla, which is the "poor man's torquoise".
for a buck we recently found these old papers that will be GREAT for crafting! :)

This AWESOME watch was only two dollars!

i LOVE this jacket and it was only four dollars!

And this FANTASTIC little sun dress was only three dollars!

well that's it for this round but as soon as i get some good photos (hopefully!) of epidote and garnet, i will be back! big HUGS!! Have an AWESOME day! :D

Two LOVELY golden leaves from Hawaii and PRETTY beads were a total of $1.25!!

These two little crows (with stringy legs) were only a quarter for the pair!!

Anyways, this aWEsoME thunder egg (small geode) was only a couple of bucks! i LOVE when i find both halves!!

this little stone elephant was only three dollars and the vendor told me that he has had this since he was about 8 (he looked close to fifty years old).

Another geode for a couple of dollars!

the inside!

These little mittens are going to look ADORABLE next year, strung together into a garland!!

Brand NEW candles for a buck each!! one still had the store sticker of $10.00 on it! UNBLIEVABLE!! And i LOVE candles!!!

we recently found this AWESOME specimen of black tourmaline, with mica and quartz. Looking closer we found a few pieces of green and red tourmaline in this large rock too!! what a GREAT find at the swapmeet!!

and because we buy so much from the book guy at the swapmeet, he gave us this BEAUTIFUL standing shell!

And finally before we start putting ALL the Christmas things away, i wanted to show you how easy it is to create and decorate!
All these items were found at the dollar store AFTER Christmas! Christmissy items were HALF price!! WOHOO!

The berries and flowers come off the bushes easily and can be glued to a 6" wreath!! Add a nice ribbon and it's ready to hang!!
