a layout for Ruby!

i went to Ruby's and found another cool little challenge! take a part of her Playtime kit (which she has available free) make a layout to get another share of the kit, if you make two layouts or one with one of her templates, you will get both of her other parts to the kit!!!

otherwise, today, i want to get the Treasure Hunts kits uploaded for April and get some laundry done, hopefully before the dr appointment at 4 (sigh) oh how i long for the long boring days again lol... this year has been filled with dr appts, vet appts, SSI, court for SSI, lawyer appts for SSI ... (sigh) i am drained already.
i am also working on more freebies and still grabbling with the possiblity of a password. just not sure how i can get more comments here or even its important enough to matter anymore... i LOVE sharing freebies, it just irks me a tad when i see soo many downloads and just a handful of thanks..i know i am not alone there either.
oh well,i am off to start my day here with my critters! lol HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Cold & blustery & GOOD NEWS!

for the past two days its been just nasty cold and highly windy out here!! gusts up to 60 miles per hour and winds sustaining around 30 - 50 mph depending on which area... snowed down in town yesterday (didnt stick tho)& hail in other areas, just crazy weather! then tomorrow its suppose to warm up again lol go figure! well the heaters may be back on for a few days but there is certainly hope, the sun still shines strong thru it all! the wind was soo bad at times yesterday tho, it sounded just like a train going nearby, only without the woo woo lol (that was a train whistle for those of you who dont know me lol )

oh GOOD NEWS, DH got called back to work!!!!! YAYYY!!!! i love him dearly but he was beginning to work on me nerves, walking around here TRYING to find something to do lol.... either he has the money and no time or in this most recent case, ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD and not a dime to do ANYTHING lol.. poor guy, he wanted to buy some materials and work on the home or motorhome(DS bought for us for $750.00. yes it was a DEAL!!) or cars (our little 4 cylinder, the ranchero that hubby bought last year & never drove yet & the one that was left here when we moved in 3 yrs ago, only ONE car actually & just barely works)...EVERYTHING around here needs some fixing lol i know it had to be driving him crazy too. well it HAS to get better now, with him back to work!!

Rug in the works & swapmeet find

Today i want to share with you a rug i finally started (to see my DONE ones, see link at bottom left of this page please).
These rugs i learned years ago, from the Carol Duvall show on HGTV and they are soo easy and fun to make but oh soo time consuming. they are made out of simple bed sheets material (cotton types)and torn into strips and kind of crocheted, but the really fun part is the tool! it's a shaved down toothbrush handle with a hole drilled in for the fabric! (the second pic is more a truer color)

there are NO knots in this rug, too! very cool process actually :)And these are the fabrics i will be stripping and adding when i run out of the red base with which i started :)

i will add more pix as i get further on it, right now its about 18 inches and almost 5 hrs work put in!

Also, altho' i didnt buy anything on saturday at the swapmeet, we went back on sunday when its alot more laid back and not so full of people (vendors OR custormers lol) and i did find this little package:)

says it contains, Holy water, Holy soil and pure olive oil from the Holy Land of Bethlehem, Jerusalem :)

March 25

Well today was a beautiful Sunday here in the desert. we got a lot of transplanting done since we have to put MOST of our plants, cacti and otherwise, in pots & planters with fencing around so the critters out here dont eat them! Yea! i couldnt believe it either but we got prairie dogs, chipmunks and tons of cottontail bunnies and jackrabbits along with the lizards and bugs that eat them! lol hard to believe they have any chance at all out here with all that against them!! and that wasnt mentioning the weather itself, with its extreme temps. when i lived back in the chicago area, and of course further east, in Pa., i had such a green thumb, that i could grow, just about, anything! here its MUCH tougher. it is amazing to know that even thorny cactus can get eaten or at least bitten into AND not just once lol i found a really thorny cactus with a few bites out of it already!
the people across the road, have a pomagranite bush and said we can have the fruit this year!! i am so happy i dont have to climb any tree...and i havent seen them growing wild at too many places either.
When DH's brother lived in the Los Angeles area, he had a very mature orange and avacado tree each in his yard... sooo beautiful, both of them!
oh well, enough chatter for tonight. i hope everyone had a WONDERFUL weekend doing what you like :)

Bad, Bad Blogger

Here it is, Saturday already and i feel i have neglected my blog, terribly! soo soo sorry! i think i am in a funk :) not just a creative block.. wierd, i still WANT to play and create but something is different.. i just got the blahs :) this too shall pass!
Things havent been too exciting around here lately just trying to make it to the next day :)
Coco had his last of his baby shots today and it was the worse.. poor little guy.. the vet tech told us how he was feeling a cold going thru him and in a little bit it will hurt and then she counted down, 3, 2, 1 and he jumped to see what was pinching him and THEN he started to cry... i rubbed his little owie and was told it would soon dissapate... poor baby!
then we were off to the swapmeet... this week i didnt buy ANYTHING!! can you believe it ?!! lol AND they even had a slew of BABY bunnies there for $5. each and i was not moved ... lol well maybe a little moved but i am NOT the proud owner of a new bunny anyways! lol it was funny too, as soon as DH found out about the bunnies, he asked to check my pockets LOL yes they were THAT small! lol but i was a veryy good girl!! hey if ANYONE knows, we dont need anymore pets right now, its ME! LOL i clean up after these little monsters i mean, precious darlings, all day LOL oh i love my babies, but some days i would LOVE to shave them ALL :)
i have been thinking about making a certain day a freebie day but i kinda like the idea of checking in on me to see if there's a freebie or not....yes i have issues with loneliness hahahaha :) i just think it would be more fun to be surprised... you can always let me know what you think!! i LOVE hearing from you!

Tuesday? Already?

Wow! where did the time go? sorry i havent been around, but its been SOO nice outside that i've been spending more time off the computer lol Hard to believe, i know! lol
today the cooler winds picked up again and heater back on and it was actually cloudy til around noon but still no rain.
well, by the time, i realized i should have taken a pic of the tastykakes box, it was too late, but my son had this one flap in his trash can LOL and luckily i didnt have to dig for it, when i mentioned it to him, DS went in and got it saying it was right on top or he wouldnt have thought about it being in there! lol So here it is: (i'll just sit here and drool awhile )

its FRIDAY!! :) FROM MY BLOG TO YOURS!

not that friday means much since DH is laid off but still i get to go to the swapmeet tomorrow!! yay!! lol i love that place, not just for the DEALS but for the socializing... i have met some of the nicest people there!
well, my blog clock is still an hour behind, i dont know how others have fixed theirs.lol i thought if we got the puter clock fixed that it would fix automatically... sigh... so much for thinking lol.... well hopefully it will fix itself in a week.. if not, i may have to change my time zone setting or something!::: shrugs::::
OH and my DS brought home an AWESOME little treat the other day!!! a box of Tastykake butterscotch krimpets!!!! needless to say they are gone already lol between my son and i, who both miss & remember them from back east!! LOL oh yum, what a treat!! :)

We came to Landers, CA

because we thought we had property out here, we checked it out online and by the time we got out here and even tore down the old shack of a place, down to the foundations, we went back online to see what the back taxes were and found out it was sold at an auction!! HAhahaha
well, 2,000 miles from home,now, i think we'll stay and so we have for 3 years lol
Landers isnt much of a town, tho it does claim to house 10,000 people, it doesnt seem so... we are at an elevation of between 3100 and 3500 feet, depending on who you read or listen to lol

oh YES how could i almost forget about Giant Rock and how some one lived under it (ROFL) literally!!! Oddly enough, it was the same guy who built the Integratron!!!! article found here
that's my town, as crazy and beautiful as it sounds, its found in the High Desert with all its weather extremes! but i LOVE it :)

Horror/slasher movie review

we rented 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Beginning' tonight and oh boy!!!!! if you like a good slasher then this is one for you! Gore from beginning to end! one part is quite A-PEELING if i may say so myself lol (ewwwwww). Some of the cast of characters really 'sink their teeth' into their roles! lol this is a story of two brothers and their girlfriends, do they survive, do ANY survive? hehe i know!! :) personally i LOVED every bloody minute! completely TERRIFYING and found myself holding my breath at times!! truly gruesome!!

half way thru March

Can you believe we are already halfway thru March? amazing, where does the time go? i know i sure look forward to spring and summer, even out here in the desert, with as hot as it gets! i much rather deal with heat, anytime, over the cold! i seem to think i can always cool down, but once i am cold it isnt easy getting me warm lol just ask DH LOL
Well, i learned something new! we, at Moo2 (see link at bottom left of page) made templates, for a challenge. And i LOVED it lol...like i need to be on this computer more LOL but oh it was oh so fun making!! my dear friend tried to get me into them a few months back but boy the timing must have been off or something, cuz i am always wanting to learn more! and you can be assured there will be freebies! lol :)

well i have been searching for a new blog spot! i thought i had one, signed up, registered and thought i had a new home till i scrolled down and saw it said up to 50 megs for free users... (sigh) so the search goes on lol oh well :)
today is also my dad's birthday... he is 87 today if he is still with us... i have no idea. Sounds like a terrible family, huh? well it wasnt the greatest but it WAS mine. i think i will give my oldest sister a call, but i am sure she hasnt kept in touch either. i am and always have been, the only one to call ANYONE in the family lol... i have been in California for about 3 years now and not one of my family has ever called me! so i doubt i will ever know where he is or if he's still alive. sad but true.

bad blogger

well, altho this is all quite new to me, i realize, after surfing the net and checking other blogs, what a bad, bad blogger i have been lol... and i am also sure that we, who do blog, will or have already said they were a bad blogger LOL so i dont really feel so bad, as we all learn together!
But i probably should be posting SOMETHING daily, huh?
well, to be honest, i have been not only thinking on alot of things but going thru quite a bit too (not that i am excusing myself at all). well, i havent really surfed the net for a long time and having recently done so i also realized just how difficult it is for me to comment on blogs, like my own... either the old blogger or new 2blogger, and i have broadband AND am a member but still it 1) takes a long time to open the comment page AND 2) makes me do a verification code each time, even after logging in, which it inevitibally always makes me do... SSssoooo, i may be changing my blog site so its easier on YOU to visit as well as comment :)
i have also been thinking about those "takers" and what i can do and came across a site with a clever & possible solution... she ( and i will credit her if i use the idea ) uses a password that is from a Bible quote... she gives the quote minus the one or two words used as the password to her freebie downloads..
ex: Mary had a ______lamb.
the blank you fill in, would be the password. i am sure that may cut down on them... how can they have time enough to figure out the blank word, if they dont have time to say one word, THANKS!!? HA! which brings me to the point of seeing 2 sets of freebie givers, those who dont care who or how many download and those that ask for a thank you, now i seem to be in the latter group since i feel, in REAL LIFE, if i gave you something, i would hope you not just take it and say nothing and leave only to return and repeat... i would always appreciate JUST a simple thank you :) its common courtesy!
i do appreciate those of you who DO visit my blog often and i LOVE reading the comments...i actually look forward to them! :)so PUH-LEEZE keep 'em comin'!! hehe
and lastly ( i feel like i rambled on enough lol)i have been trying to keep up with layout challenges and even feel me slacking there too... just please know, this too shall pass... i am hoping to have my own puter again before the month's end (YAY!!) and just dont have the same ambition on my son's puter as i will again on my own. as GREATFUL as i am for the use of DS's puter, i just cannot see doing all the WORK of setting up his like i will my own. so i patiently bide my time! :)
i said it before and will again, this is going to be a BETTER year! :) :) and good things are a-coming!! so dont give up on me just yet! hehe

another movie review :)

well last nite we rented Borat! and it was FANTASTIC! keeping in character perfectly throughout and i just LOVED his character!!! some of the scenes were just too hilarious to breathe!! Extremely original! He did remind me of Andy Kaufmann in a sense, a veryy broad sense. it played out like a true documentary, at times making you laugh and almost cry. All in all it was a two thumbs up from me!!! this is one that will be added to our library.
