Sheesh it has been almost a week since i last blogged again and i apologize but goodness, it has been busy! lol
Thursday as DH and i were in the pool for an after work swim, we notice no less than 6 stray dogs running around our back (way, way back, but still) yard!!! i still haven't called the county on all the neighborhood strays, but i will!! did before when we had one neighbor with 48 kenneled poodles and 8 dogs running free in her fenced area! Glad they moved LOL
Friday Coco, my little sweet one, got neutered! He was gone much of the day, then DH brought him home after work. 'Time for recovery, Cinnamon, Coco cannot play now!'
Saturday we had our usual day, at the swapmeet and trying to accomplish things around here (it just gets TOOOOOO hot!) and DH's son flew in late, we were excited about seeing them the next day!!
Sunday we woke and met Jen & Jason (DH's but OUR son & daughter in law) for breakfast and then took them to see Giant Rock lol and it is GIANT!!! pix will be posted later.
Really didn't do much but shared with them the lay of the land around here! Showing them the Integratron (see earlier posts for Giant rock & Integratron info, way earlier where we introduced our neighborhoods) Gubler's Orchid place, now mind you, it IS Sunday, so MUCH of this was closed LOL but we did look in windows at the orchids!! Showed them our little neighborhood half a house and Jas ALMOST went up & knocked LOL And where they stayed in the motel, in Pioneertown, well, that was cool for them to share with us, since we hadn't been there yet! This place is a set that was built for making movies there and obviously still MAKING movies there! lol i checked THAT out on their site
here :) simply enough! Check out the Filmography on the side, once you enter! Amazing little place for sure! Especially remembering the awful fire (Sawtooth Complex fire) last year that burned a month or so! All the plants that naturally grow, have all been burnt and to see the contrast of the new growth to that and the houses that the firefighters SAVED! Truly AMAZING!!
Went to Joshua Tree National Park, which is ALWAYS beautiful! and a good walk! lol
Then we had 'dinner' at Foster Freeze a few towns away, since Jas grew up in Calif. and missed them! And they haven't changed a bit, still just as good as DH remembers, so that was a treat!!
Then Monday we awoke, took out our dogs and almost got attacked by TWO of the neighbors dogs, even tho we were all in our fenced areas!! i hear this commotion of barking going on and i look over my gate to see two pitbull types come toward running around their corner of their fence and they are running toward my gate!! Now i hadn't said anything up til this point when i yelled 'Go home!' and they didnt stop or hesitate, but kept coming & barking wildly so i grabbed our walking stick (which we now keep by the gate and have to use when walking in unfenced areas cuz of wild animals out there, now neighbor dogs too! sheesh) and raised to point it and repeated GO HOME!!!
they stopped and both DH and I went out there and just walked out there til they backed off... but each time they backed up and stopped, they proceeded to bark which told me that as soon as we turned our backs, they would have attacked, so we kept walking up on them, yelling at them to go home and they finally backed way off and around their corner again! WE still haven't called the county OR talked with the neighbor who we lived next to almost 3 1/2 years now and is TOTALLY unrational! sigh!!The goofball was related to the neighbors with so many dogs, and he KNEW i called the county on that mess! so they move and what does he do?? well, he is not happy with the two bigs dogs he had that constantly came over to see us breaking out of his fenced area, so he goes and gets about FOUR other dogs and i havent seen King or Dude! i think he has them tied up on the other side of his house but i DO see one of the new ones tied up outside on this side of his house and this dog tho it may have a doghouse, is tied out there ALWAYS!! BARKING at any AND everything! sigh! so i feel forced to call the county soon! it is awful!
So ANYWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSS back on the visit! LOL
Then off to meet up for breakfast and off they went to finish their week long trip out here! i think he went south to Los Angeles to be with his brother for a bit (from his mom's side) and then up to San Fransico, for a winery tour! How cool!!
i felt bad we didnt have much planned to do since we are in an area where 3 hrs (more or less )in just about any directions and we could be at the beach, Big Bear, Vegas, Disneyland, Hollywood or ALOTT of other places i am sure but they understood and truly seemed to enjoy just our time together!! After all, it's probably been 5 years since we all last saw each other!! Hope it's not that long for the next time :)
Tuesday we just back on track of our schedules, still giving Coco recovery time, watching he doesnt jump or romp too much yet!
How is your summer going? Mine is going way too quickly, even as hot as it gets out here! i LOVE the summer way more than i do winters! Especially this year, with the pool i haven't used nearly enough!! lol But next year, my pups won't need my constant supervisions and they might not even know me with as much time as i plan to spend there !!! LOL i do plan on taking the little ones in with us now and then and hope they enjoy it too!
