Broke car and still bargains!

Hi again! i sure hope you are having a GREAT weekend! it started out a bit rough for us but we made it through, thanks to friends!! Friday night DH's explorer blew the water pump. DS had to go to work Saturday morning, we had to find a way, sheesh, who is going to want to get up so early to get him there by 7am!?! Thankfully our friends are swapmeeters too and DO get up early on a Saturday morning!! so we call them and after a few tries, finally get ahold of them!
They have no problem getting here by 6:30 am so he can get to work on time! YAY!! so we drop him off and all of us go get some breakfast! after breakfast we head off to the swapmeet for a quick go through before our male friend, of the couple, helps DH with this pump. we wind up going to a few yard sales too, on the way to our house and what bargains we got! Then we finally get home and the guys work on the car while the gals stay inside & listen to music and chat!
it took quite a while to complete the job but LUCKILY the guy who helped, had done this before on his own explorer, when he had one. DH has worked on cars most of his life but not these newer ones so this guy's help was SOOOOOOOO APPRECIATED!! Then to top it off, they hung around, making sure DH's car worked to pick up DS!!! HUGS to them and i did, a FEW times!!!! :)
OH, i wanted to share a quick picture of the swapmeet, the tailgaters section, where they set up tables or blankets and sell. the other part of this place is basically permanent vendors who have small cabin type shops. it's really a GREAT place just for the people. Now onto some bargains! heheh

There was even a band there this Saturday, and here is a shot of one of those cabin type stores too! :)

I'm trying not to be jealous. Went to a street fair that turned out to be a big flea market but the people selling were crazy, the prices were so high you couldn't even see where they ended. It was 3 times the size of last year's fair but just worthless. *sigh*

I'm glad YOU got some bargains!!! I can't believe that dress was just a dollar!!!

Good Morning Shirley:)
Wow..more and more goodies! I am sooo envious of your trips to the swap meet.:) We use to have a flea market in town and would go pretty often...but...now there are huge shopping areas with name brand stores.:( Developers bought that property and put in all kinds of stores..Target..Pet Depot..Circuit City(before it went kaput)..then Famous Footwear..Office Max....Books A Million..Payless shoe store..Party store..etc. with restaurants all around it ..then moved across the street and added Best Buy..Dollar Tree ..Michaels..
Asian Buffet..Stevie B's pizza ..etc. with a Walmart down the street. It's just another big city...and you can pretty much forget the bargains.LOL I get my goodies from the thrift stores in the area when I get the time to go shopping for the day.:)
Sooo sorry about your car trouble.:( Thank the Lord you have some really great friends!!!:)
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Valinda

Wow, Shirley - you manage to find the BEST deals, always so interesting! I am amazed!

This looks like a place I'd get lost in and my husband would have to drag me out with my fingers scratching the dirt all the way... ROTFL!

Thank goodness for friends!

Thanks for sharing your lovely treasures once again!

Hugs, Barb
