Amberware collection and more Cali!
Good evening! it sure has been awhile again since we last visited! it has been nothing but HOT here!
Since DH is selling at the swapmeet at least, every other Saturday, we decided to see if we could sell our amberware collection. So i unwrapped it all and set up on the porch to see what all we had. Thought you might enjoy, as well.

After seeing all of that, i did decide to keep a few pieces. i think amberware is PERFECT & a warming color for any Thanksgiving or Fall table setting.
And just to end on a 'OH SO CUTE' moment...

That is, again, all i had time to upload. Thank you so very much for visiting and you know i will see you again soon, i CANNOT stay away too long! hehe HUGS! :)

Some fun photos and of course Cali!
Good morning! sheesh what a morning i have had already! Cali sure keeps us busy and even more so when he FINALLY does nap, i find that i forgot to put his bowl up, which had a little food left from before he went for a nap, and find how quickly the ANTS out here find food!!!!! what a mess!
Anyways, while he is again finally sleeping, i got a chance to upload a few photos.
Earlier this year, DH and i were driving around to yard sales and came across these BEAUTIES!! The owner was outside watering her plants and we asked if we could take a picture of these cacti, she was happy to let us and tell us that she started out with most of her plants, with just a small sprig from a mature one.

This was at one of the yard sales. Some people sure have the green desert thumb for growing!!

At yet another recent yard sale, we found this FUN bottle wall!!

And finally, i hope you enjoy these pictures of Cali, who is now 8 weeks old! :)

i am so curious, what this puppy will look like when older. He is already getting some new wild hairs coming in and looks so cute.

Well, that's all i got today! i hope you enjoyed your visit cause i surely enjoyed it! Thanks so much for stopping by and i hope to see you again real soon. Have a GREAT day! :)

Stones, a sunset and the surprise!
Good morning! i hope you are getting out and enjoying some of the summer. Los Angeles has had almost 30 days of below average temperatures but we don't feel it out here in the desert, it's just HOT!! lol
Well, this morning i did get a chance to actually upload some photos. i picked a few fun random ones that i hope you will enjoy. :)
First, i thought i would share some of the stones we found, when we last went rock hunting, back in March! The first is one of the best crystals we found.

the next two photos came from a different local location.
These are a few of the double termination crystals that i found.

And not too far from where i found those, we found cube stones. i forget what they are called but each one is squared!!!

The next photo is one of the sunsets i shot recently...only thing is that i had a cigarette nearby and the smoke got in front of the lens. i thought it looked pretty cool! :)

And last but not least, i have to share my newest surprise!!
wait for it...
hehe
Meet Calvin but we call him Cali! :D

What has been happening!?
Good morning! well, it is still morning here. hehe i sure have missed you.
Thank you so very much for sharing your earthquake experiences with me. it is amazing how many go through something so similar and yet live so far away. :)
is this summer FLYING by for you, too? It sure is here! We have been just keeping so busy. We recently closed in the porch to keep ALL desert critters OUTSIDE and no where near our front door! lol pictures will follow soon, they have been taken but not yet uploaded, as are soooooooooo many other things that are going on around here. i promise to get to them soon.
i do have some bargain photos uploaded and ready to share but i may not remember what i paid for the stuff by now. lol
i do know that we paid $8.00 for this cute wooden bench/storage unit and i LOVE it!

Here are a few items i picked up at a recent yard sale.

This lovely candle holder was $3.00. The last time we bought something like this from the swapmeet, we showed a glass vendor the bargain we bought and he turned around and offer us $35.00 for it and we RE-sold it, to him!! Don't ya just LOVE when that happens!? lol

i paid three dollars for this lot below.

And i remember these chia pet wer a buck fifty each.

we picked up this clock for a dollar, simply for the mini items! lol

This AWESOME jewelry box was only $4.00!

The vendor selling these necklaces, keeps dropping the price and they are now just $2.00 each!! One is garnet and the other labradorite which shines a vibrant blue when light hits it.

DH picked up this ring on one of the fridays he went yard sale-ing and i stayed home.
He paid only $2.00 for this LOVELY ring!

i paid two dollars for this lot.

a dollar for this pear box container.

i paid either a dollar or two for this Amethyst specimen that might be florite. :)
Either way, it's a BEAUTY!

i know it was only a buck for this stone necklace.

Odds and ends i picked up cheap.

one dollar for this necklace holder.

A few more chickens!!

i LOVe this long neck bottle we found for a dollar!

And we also paid a dollar or two for this opalite bracelet.

we did get a BARGAIN for these Brazilian crystals! Each one is flawles and BEAUTIFUL!

That's all i have uploaded so far but the dollhouse has three rooms that are almost completely done. Mostly i am waiting on doors and windows that DH will do. Right now he has been working on kitchen cabinets. and everything has been so much fun that we actually caught ourselves, this past weekend, standing back and just admiring how far we have come with our first dollhouse!! :) Thank you so very much for the uplifting compliments on our work! i really LOVE finding this to make and sharing them with you. :D
big HUGS to you. i hope you have a GREAT summer day and i will be back soon. Oh and i have another surprise to share so you KNOW i will be back soon! hehe

i felt my first
About an hour an a half ago, i felt my first earthquake !
i was sitting at this computer, playing a game (since i don't get online much lately) and it felt like someone bumped into my chair... i said "what the heck was that?" and DS then realized it was still kind of rolling!! Then we turn on the BREAKING NEWS about it and all they talk about is THE BIG ONE... everyone knows it's coming!!! On top of the uneasy feeling of my first one, i sure didn't want to hear about the "big one coming" !! sheesh!
i know my older DS, who lives on the East Coast, recently felt one too!!! i knew it was inevitable, since for every coastline, there MUST be a fault line!
Still very scary feeling. i would LOVE to know if you ever felt one too!! Thanks so much for sharing this moment with me. Have a GREAT evening! HUGS!! :D

some dollhouse updates
Good evening! i thought i would pop on and update you on the dollhouse front! hehe
we are running so far behind this year, we haven't even put up the pool yet! sheesh!! Anyways, the dollhouse is to the point of only needing to do the 'glass' (acetate) part of the windows and then a few rooms are completed!! But i am not that far in uploading pictures! lol
we did get this craft room desk done and i LOVE how the drawers really pull out!

And when DH saw some stones and shells, he had this WONDERFUL creation in mind and finally got it done! i LOVE it! Thank you, Sweetie!

i even started to get some wall art done, like this little shell wreath.

And i LOVE how this pendant makes such a cute portrait for the living room!!

We even found a cute little pet bed at one of the recent yard sales.

And lastly, i wanted to share a few other items we recently found at yardsales!

Something most ironic happened to us today and i can hardly share it!!
This week, DH has been working on the bathroom and kitchen items and instead of using this really pretty thing for the bathroom sink, since it's in the back of the house and really would not been seen, we decided to make it the kitchen sink. And so he has been making a cabinet to fit the sink in the kitchen. Well, today he goes to a yard sale and comes back with this AWESOME little dollhouse that is ONLY a kitchen and bathroom and will be really handy for parts we may need. And guess what it didn't have?!!!! i dare ya to guess! well, it didn't have a kitchen sink!!!! Just what he finished making today!!!! i PROMISE to upload the photos soon but i did make a video of the 'house' he bought (for $4.00!) It is the CUTEST and the doorbell works, and so do the toilet (makes the sound of flushing) and the shower and just when we thought we had seen it all, we discovered that the washer and dryer really open and spin!!!!! i would LOVE to share the video i made, but it is SIXTY megs!!! i could NOT believe it, it was just a short video!! lol Anyways, i can hardly wait to share the photos! Until then, thanks so much for stopping by and i sure hope you have a FANTASTIC evening! :D HUGS!
