Here's another closeup!
Today, while DH & i were in the pool, we had a mother and father quail bring their babies out to visit! since i was in the pool, i, of course, didn't get any photos but the babies are getting bigger and already looking like little adults with their older feathers coming in!! sooooooooooooo CUTE!!! They sure are a TON better than when the snakes come out to visit! hehe ;)

Those rr's are cool looking. THe last one I saw was in May coming back from Kern Canyon. It was dashing along I-5. They look like some strange chicken at first but all pointy-like. I think going back to Kern Canyon next spring is in my work schedule and I cant wait to do some plant surveys there. And see more cool wildlife. :)
I just love roadrunners. I really think one of them is a lady bird, I don't know, she just looks kind of delicate (tell that to the big snakes she catches and eats! "Delicate" indeed!!! More like FIERCE!!!) -- STAY IN THAT POOL!!! It is TOO HOT lately...and Shirley, we have AUGUST coming, too...OH NO!!! Talk about HOT!!!
