a little more info

Since i had another friend (Thanks Kimb!!) asking about another one of my facts, i thought i would explain!
How i met Jay Leno, from the Tonight show or my Brush with Fame!! lol
i became a HUGE Howard Stern fan back in 1986 or 87 and my second husband (together 13 years) took me to as many live Stern events as possible since we lived in the Philly (PA) area and Stern was just in NY, he did alot of personal appearances in the beginning. One year, when he came to Philly for a book signing, i ( ex-hubby & son too) were in the massive audience. i would have fun easing my way through the crowd, to the front of the stage (being small really comes in handy sometimes lol) while ex-hubby stood with the movie camera (from the Flintstone age, so big and bulky). at one point, while standing with my son, the ex called over to me and pointed out someone walking down through the crowd, right towards me!!! it was Jay Leno and he didn't have an entourage or bodyguards!!!! there he was, just walking towards me, in his Indian Harley jacket, and hardly anyone is noticing him!!!! well i could hardly resist and i am NOT a big Leno fan! lol as he passed me by, i yelled "Mr. Leno, Mr. Leno!" and he kept walking. Then finally desperation set in and out came a bellowing "JAY!" with that he turned around, seeing me in my little sun dress, he approached me with a smile and his hand extended. my knees went to jello and NO audible words came out LOL i was a mushy puddle and he says, "Well, how are you doing?" LOL i was astounded that this man, who passed EVERYONE else, has stopped to chat with me and i cannot form two words OR look him in his OH SOOO BLUE eyes!! LOL as i tried to form some form of a syllable, he gives my son's head a pat and rub, asks how he is, DS answers him, no problem, making me soo proud and feel even more silly! lol and with that Jay told me to enjoy my day and turned to leave. i was FLYING!!! LOL now i am sure that if i could have been able to form a sentence, i would have asked if he was going to see Stern, which i KNOW he was and would have asked if i could have gone with him and you know, i think to this day, that Jay would have said yes and i would have been OFF like a shot in the dark! lol so it is best that i couldn't speak, so i had a great day with my son and my ex and a WONDERFUL memory for life!
i hope you enjoyed my day in Philly and how i met a STAR! lol
I LOVE your visits, they always start my day with a smile!!! so thank you for visiting and as always, have a BEAUTIFUL day!!! HUGS! :D

a little info

Since i had one friend (Thanks Sonia!!)asking about how DH and i met online, i thought i would explain.
well, it must have been back in 1999 (YES, I'm going to PARTY like it's 1999! lol) when i was living in Michigan but on a babysitting job, for 3 weeks! Good money, but Lord it was lonely! lol so after the kids went to bed, i went online and found myself in chat rooms. i didn't do too much chatting since it was at a time when i had just had my first heart attack about 3 months prior and i was a bit depressed about it all. the happiest times were when the kids were up and i was joyfully busy with them! So mostly i would watch others chatting, hooking up, spamming, and just plain being goofy! every now and then, of course, i would get a little Instant Message box with some pick up line usually there, so mostly they would just get clicked closed and ignored. Then, these two men from the Chicago area started Instant Messaging me but not with the usual horny pick up lines!! lol they were actual gentlemen!! TWO of them, who could imagine that? lol well, that in itself perked up my attitude a bit and pleasantries were exchanged. For some reason, that i cannot even explain, that i was drawn to my future husband! We kept in touch, on the computer and phone and in what was a pretty short time, he was on the road to meet face to face. That was an 8 hr drive for him, ONE WAY! lol Must have been LOVE, huh? lol well, that was all in October and by December, i packed up and my 14 yo DS and i moved in with him. and that was 9 years ago now! Since then we have heard MANY horror stories about hook ups online and feel we have been truly blessed with each other! DH & my DS have become really good friends and rarely has there been a cross word amongst the family! it honestly has been the best thing in my life (meeting him, that is) giving me time to grow and mature, myself (since my first child was born when i was 17).
And it did turn out that the two guys from the Chicago area, knew each and we all got to be GREAT friends! Funny thing was, they lived about 90 miles away from each other and neither knew i was chatting with the other, at the time! But i am a HUGE believer in fate or destiny, whatever you may call it, when you are where you are MEANT to be! things happen for a reason and thankfully this one turned out good. don't think, for a minute, that i don't have horror stories or as others might say, kissed my share of frogs lol but not this time! lol
now i really would not feel right if i didn't let the mommy in me come out at this point and say, have fun in chat rooms, there really are possibilities available, but be safe, be careful and ALWAYS ALWAYS listen to that little voice inside you! some call it a conscience but i call it God. so listen carefully, because He doesn't always speak loudly but He IS ALWAYS there! HUGE HUGS!!!! Have a safe and WONDERFUL Memorial day! and thanks so very much for your visits! i know it's kind of vague but sure hope i answered your curiosity! :D

Paper crafts

Hi again! it's always soo nice to actually have something to blog about and share. lol
Just before we moved to California, i was highly into paper crafts. Watching Carol Duvall (HGTV), i would get some AWESOME ideas!!
On Carol's site, you can find some AWESOME ways to make to make a variety of things, my favorite area being the paper crafts where she has guests that share how to make books, cards, paper making and origami and much, much more!

There was this FASCINATING man who would be a guest often, named Michael Strong and he makes so MANY different things that would incorporate nicely into our scrapbooks! and his ideas are generally SOOOO CLEVER & often easy that i thought i would share some of in hopes that you would find him as valuable as i do!
i particularly like when he shares his flower or plant creations made from paper!!
As always, i would LOVE to see if you do create something! :D
and before i go, i am happy to let you know that on the right, just scroll down a little, i placed a comment box for you to EASILY leave me a comment, cause i know how slow blogger can be! :D
Big HUGS and thank you so much for visiting!!! i hope you have a WONDERFUL day! :D
