Excitement in the neighborhood

Last night DH and i went outside with the dogs and saw some kind of commotion going on at the neighbor's. soon we realized there was 3 cop cars and 2 personal or maybe unmarked cars (one was a van but a cop clearly drove it!!) And some of them wearing flap jackets or bulletproof vests!!?!! how strange!! the 5 cars are all parked like they came here quickly but we sure didn't hear sirens! i checked all night, well, up till 1:30 am and they were still there!!! i could, at times, see someone checking around the back of their place with a flashlight but i still cannot imagine what was going on over there but it was beginning to scare me! what could they be looking for in the dark? and to stay out there so long (at least 6 hours that i saw) oh well, hopefully it will be in the paper cause we sure weren't going to go over and ask. lol wonder how late they stayed there?! how strange...
oh well, on a lighter note, here is a picture of my precious stones and gem display, AFTER the Gem & Mineral show.
gem & mineral rock display
it is really filling up! lol but most of them we got from the swapmeet! it is pretty hard to take a picture unless i get a stepladder! lol what a hobby, huh? lol ROCKS! lol oh but i am soooooooo looking forward to going to the next Rock club meeting!! i hope we actually join so we can go out with them when they go mining!! so much to learn, it is almost overwhelming. So many rocks come in different colors not making it easy to id them. SO MUCH FUN though! lol And the best part of THAT hobby is NO DOWNLOADING troubles!!! lol oh this internet provider is getting so very frustrating to deal with!
guess we will save that venting session for another day's post! lol For now, i am off to see your blogs! :D
Have a WONDERFUL day and thank you so much for visiting!

P.S. Hope you find out what was going on at the neighbors, that is scarey - especially when they were there that long :) Hugs

Good morning:)
It was soo nice seeing a comment from you in my little box.:)How sweet! Thank you so much.!
I would have been curious too with all that going on in the neighborhood.Could it have been a drug raid? My sister said there was something similar to that right across the street from her a few years back.She had no idea they were using that house to sell drugs.You can usually tell one though by the many different cars that come in and out of there all the time.We had a neighbor years ago when the kids were little.. that sold them and we didn't know it until people started coming to our door asking for him...strangers in different cars always popping in over there.That's a pretty clear giveaway.huh? The sad thing is..we lived right across the street from an elementary school.:( I'm glad we don't live there any more.We live on a dead end street now and it's always quiet.We all pretty much keep to ourselves.:)We have been here twelve years.Wow!Time flies.!:)
Your rock collection looks great! It's amazing how many gorgeous gems there are.Sounds like you really enjoy it too!:)My Dad..when he was with us..use to collect knives and keep them in a case like this.I collect knick knacks..what nots...and scrapbook stuff.I really need to have a yard sale..but then I would want to buy them back.LOL
Have a wonderful day!Thanks again!!

first of all Shirley, I am SO SORRY I missed your birthday - please forgive me. {hugs}

That sounds TOTALLY weird about the neighbors - you be careful!

Your rock collection is sure growing. You know, kids LOVE rocks too! I also remember having one of those rock tumbling kits as a kid - it was totally my favorite toy.

Thanks for sharing!

Love,
Barb
